How to make Rajma?

 

Preparation time: 10-15 min

Cooking time: 20-25 min

Serves : 3-4

 

Ingredients

3 cups of kidney beans soaked overnight

Water as required. salt to taste

1/2 tbsp red chili powder

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 green chilly

1-inch ginger fine chopped

6-8 garlic fine chopped

 4 tbsp ghee

1 tbsp cumin seed

4 big onions fine chopped

1/2 cup tomato puree

1/2 tsp garam masala powder

1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves chopped

 

Method

  • Wash the soaked kidney beans and pressure cook with water and salt till 4-5 whistles.
  • Heat ghee in a non-stick pan add cumin seeds. Then, add onions and sauté them till their color changes to light brown.
  • Add ginger garlic green chilly sauté for 2 min
  • Now add red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala powder mix it well.
  • Now add tomato puree mix again sauté for 4-5 min
  • Add kidney beans mix it well cook for 8-10 min more.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
